How BeatBox actually works

- Business model
- Two-sided marketplace. Guests pay a section reservation fee to BeatBox, which keeps a flat 10% platform fee. The remaining 90% is paid out to the venue host through Stripe Connect Express, automatically, on every booking.
- Who can host
- Licensed bars, nightclubs, lounges, and event venues in the United States. Every host completes Stripe Connect onboarding — including identity verification and bank details — before they can accept their first payment.
- What guests pay for
- A reserved VIP section (booth, table, lounge, private room, bar area, or dance floor) for one night at a specific venue. Bottle packages may be added as optional upsells. Any mandatory at-bar spend (the "bottle minimum") is disclosed before checkout and paid in person on the night.
- Payment methods
- Credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay — all processed by Stripe. Card data is tokenized at the source; BeatBox never stores raw payment details.
- Cancellation policy
- 100% refund more than 48 hours before the reservation · 50% refund 24–48 hours before · no refund inside 24 hours. If a host cancels, the guest is refunded in full regardless of timing.
- Platform safety
- Atomic reservation locks in Firestore prevent double-booking of the same section on the same night. Guest accounts are verified through Firebase Authentication; host identity is verified through Stripe. All financial flows go through Stripe Connect.
